Join two tables with same columns?

I have two files that I pull data from. I currently open each file, and then dump that data into one giant table in another workbook. Pivot reports are created from that giant table in that workbook.

Is it possible to set up a connection/powerpivot to automatically join these tables into one? There's no primary key, the data just belongs in the same table but unfortunately I cannot get access to the raw data all in one table.

Powerpivots will work with this but you need a unique reference to combine the tables.

Without seeing the data it is hard to say but generally just open a new tab and set up a unique list and add that to the powerpivot and use that to create the join.

i.e say your two tables were customer sales data and was at a lower level i.e invoice number or date, so you had multiple occurances of some customers. Open a new table with a unique list of the customers as the join.

If needs be just post up an example of the spreadsheet in case I have miss interpruted.

Problem is that I don't have easy access to unique keys between the data files.

    This worked, though - http://www.contextures.com/PowerPivo...cel-Files.html

It involves importing one of the tables into powerpivot, then writing a union query to join the second table to the first. From the link:
