Smile Count the number of entries in a range of cells based on certain criteria

I'd like to be able to count the number of times a figure has been entered into a range of cells based on criteria, see example below:

I have an activity on which up to 5 people can work on for a certain number of hours. I have asked people to populate for each activity how many staff they require and for how many hours. This is an example of a return.

    Activity X
    Person1 Person2 Person3 Person4 Person5
    4hrs 4hrs 2hrs

The requirement for the number of staff required is 2.5, I need a formula which would return this value. If the third person was working 4hours this would be 3 people and so on.
Person1 will be working for the whole activity so what ever this value is (it might be 8 hours for example) needs to return a value of 1 and then any subsequent person is a percentage of that.

    See example 2
    Activity X
    Person1 Person2 Person3 Person4 Person5
    8hrs 8hrs 4hrs 4hrs

The formula would need to return three people for the above example

If anyone could help with this that would be fab.

    Thanks

Hi Amy and welcome to the Forum - It would be really useful if you could upload a spreadsheet with a small sample of data and demonstrating your desired output.

Hi Blake, thanks for answering - however I have just resolved it. It was actually really simple, I just needed to sum the entries in person 1-5 and divide by the entry in person 1.

    Thanks anyway
