Working with Excel 2007 I have a spreadsheet with say 20 pages (sheets) I am initially importing name info onto a final sheet from each of the other sheets. On the final sheet I am then forming a total cell for each of the records and then returning to the original sheet linking the total to the particular record with no problem.
The next step is to return to the original spreadsheet and create a link to the other spreadsheet for a total figure again this is achieved.

Now that the link between the two sheets is established returning to the secondary sheet which has data from several other sheets including people’s names I now wish to sort the data into alphabetical order and sorting all the relevant cells for that individual yet maintain the total cell relationship to the other worksheet if that makes sense.

The next step I have taken to then include all of the relevant data which is to be sorted and complete an alphabetic sort for all that data which again is completed it the way I require.

Now the issue when returning to the any of the original spreadsheets looking at the total for the individual the linked cell to the other spreadsheet remains the same i.e. say the Name was A Smith and the original cell was say G25 after sorting them A Smith is now relocated to say row 85 but the linked reference remains at row 25!!

Any suggestions?
