Numbers in Excel won't actually round. How do I get them to round up

Hello, I have a long list of numbers, some are rounded already but others have up to 2 decimal places, for example:

4
3.57
3.86
4
2
2.1
2

If I click on the Decrease Decimal button, the number shows as rounded, but if I click on the cell it is still seen as 3.57 or 3.86 etc. Also if I use the =round formula the same thing happens. How do I really get rid of the decimal places?

The reason this is an issue is because I have a load of nested if formulas based on these numbers, and they are coming up as #N/A because my conditions involve whole numbers.

Hey Special-K, thanks for your help. It gets rid of the decimal point, however it rounds the number down. Is there a similar formula to round the number to the nearest whole number? For example, currently the numbers 3.01, 3.4, 3.81 will all be rounded to 3. Is there a formula which would round the numbers to 3,3,4 respectively?
