Refer to activex checkbox status in a formula without using VBA or linked cell

    Hello experts,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the TRUE/FALSE value of an activex checkbox directly in another formula on the worksheet without involving VBA or without involving the "linked cell"?

    For example:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
This returns an invalid name error.

    thanks

Is there a reason why you don't want to use a linked cell?

I wanted to avoid having some cells "off to the side" that might inadvertantly get overwritten or deleted.

I did what I needed to do with VBA code in the mean time, so now it is just a matter of curiosity.

    thanks

I use "hidden" cells all the time when I can't find a way around it. I just make sure they are protected and I change the font color to white. No one knows they are there except for me or good snoopers.
