Easy way to update formulas when adding new spreadsheets?

This is what My spreadsheet looks like:

As you can see, the "data results" tab tallies data from the Chart 1, Chart 2, etc. tabs. Untitled.png

What if I want to add new spreadsheets to my workbook? Chart 9, 10, 11, 12, etc. All identical. Is there anyway to update formulas in "data results" other than doing it manually?

Hi timmy and welcome to the forum,

I think you are looking for the Indirect function through a bunch of different tabs. See the link to show how using a Named Range of "Tabs", which spanned multiple worksheets did the trick and might do your problem also.

Thanks for taking the time to respond! I am unfamiliar with the indirect function. I read through the link you provided and am still a bit confused as to how I would apply that to my situation. =\

    Hi timmy,

It is a little complicated but I think it is what you want. You will need a list of the names of your tabs. Then you give this list a NAMED RANGE called "tabs" (as in the example in the link). Then you do the formula that the link provides which will sum values across all tabs. When you add a new tab you will need to add that tab name to the bottom of your list of tabs and expand the range of the Named Range. You formula should then work across new tabs as you add them.

If you post a sample workbook it would be much more helpful to show you what is meant by using the link above. To attach a workbook, click on "Go Advanced" and then the Paper Clip Icon above the advanced message area.
