    Conditional Formatting Prevents Column Bolding

    Hi,

In order to get alternating rows to be highlighted, and the rows to stay that way when I sorted the data, I used the formula =MOD(ROW(),2)=0 to create a rule in conditional formatting. However, now wherever this rule took effect, I can't format further. For example, I want to bold two columns, but only the rows that aren't highlighted because of the rule are bolding. Any suggestions?

    Hi.

Not sure about for Mac, but in Excel 2010 at least you can prioritize the CF rules in the Manage Rules section: the topmost has priority, etc.

This certainly is unusual behaviour. I can't duplicate it. I would like to examine the file.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.
