    Cell Bolding - conditional

Is there anyway I can make an entire row become bold only when I enter data into a cell pertaining to that specific row? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Re: Cell Bolding Dilema

    Hi GB,

    welcome to the forum.

You can use conditional formatting for that.

Highlight the row or rows you want do have that apperance, for example Rows 1 to 10, then click conditional formatting and create a new rule with the option Use a formula to determine ...

    Enter this formula:

    =NOT(ISBLANK($B1))

and then set the format to bold

Now when data is entered anywhere in the row, it will stay the default format, but as soon as something is entered in column B fo the row, the whole row will be bold

    does that help?

    Re: Cell Bolding - conditional

Hey thanks. That was really helpful. I should have frequented this forum when I was in college.

One more question if I may.

I would like to obtain the same result of bolding an entire row. However, this time I would like the row to be bolded only when a value greater than 0.00 is entered into one of its particular cells.

    Thanks for the help

Ok, say the value you want to watch is in B1, so you select row 1 or more, do the "conditional format - new rule - use a formula..." thing and enter the formula

    =$B1>0

and select the format you want it to be.
