Automatic formula auditing - Is there an option/addin?

When you click on the formula in a cell it shows you what other cells are linked to it. Often when checking my work I have to do this all over my spreadsheet in order to make sure everything is right......

Is there any setting/option or excel addin that automatically highlights the cells that are used in your formula or automatically traces precedents without having to click on anything other than selecting the cell?

Hi, welcome to the forum

Take a look at the Formula tab/Auditing tools
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

I'm not really seeing anything under Formulas -> Formula Auditing that does anything automatically.

To clarify, when you hit "F2" on a cell it highlights the cells used in the formula. I'm looking for anything that will highlight the cell the same way without taking me into the formula.

OMFG, just got permission from my IT department to install and it's freaking amazing... how is this not a standard feature! I'll be forwarding this to several people. I hope you have a way to monetize this Gareth, you've got a winner!

Just a quick note to let you know that you can now subscribe to a mailing list that will send you an email whenever a new version of FormulaDesk is available for download (with bug fixes, new features etc.)

Just sign up at the bottom of the homepage: http://www.formuladesk.com

This will be a better way to keep informed about any new features, like the ones I've added in the past few days.
