Unhappy I change the row height on existing excel sheet - now it won't expand height with typing

Hi,

I am very new to excel and am self-taught.
All was good with a spreadsheet that I personalized (for hours!)

Then I realized that I should expand the row height on the entire sheet.

All of a sudden the row height will not expand beyond that newly set value!
Once I fooled around and it seemed to be working, but did not show as I worked on my sheet...so too hard for me to use it.

Hope that I am making sense.
I just don't know why just changing the height would change how the document acts in each row?

I have tried a lot of things, based on this and other forums.

Excel 2007

Thank you in advance!
Kelly

As a test, highlight an entire row on a new sheet (click the row number), then use the format painter to copy that (clean) rows's format to 1 of your rows that you "messed" with, then see if it will auto-adjust height again
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Thank you!

However, now when I re-open any of my files, the way the whole excel window looks is different.
1. The sheet itself has moved over to the right - it's not straight under the toolbars.
2. The name of the file isn't on the top like it was - now it's on a new "extra" line under the toolbars.
3. AND the very worst thing - they open on top of each other!

Oh my oh my oh my
what have I done?
I didn't think I selected anything differently. I have no idea what has gone wrong.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks in advance,
Kelly

aahh ok, sounds like you need to maximise the sheet window - click the small square just to the left of the X (close) icon in the top right corner
