Excel 2013 not closing after closing workbook

Hey everyone!

I am having a problem after I close a workbook, Excel 2013 stays open.

So if I "X" out of everything, Excel remains open with no open workbook...It's really annoying. I have looked on Google and tried to find it on the "Advanced Options" but cannot find anything. The strange thing is that i have not changed any thing that I can think of that would've changed this option.

Does anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance!

Go to Task Manager-->Processes and look for EXCEL.EXE. Select "Excel.Exe" and click on End Process. All your open Excel workbooks will get closed.

Hi SBennett212,
In Excel 2007 you hold the shift key down and click the "X".
Don't know if this will work in Excel 2013.
