Office 2013 Pivot Table Filters Going Weird

    Hi guys,

    Hope you can help me.

I moved to Office 2013 today and happy with the change.
One thing I picked up that makes no sense to me at all is with the Pivot Table Filters.

In all previous version, if you had 2 filters You where able to filter on the first values, then the second values would be linked to only what is linked to the first values.

    Example:

Soccer, I have a table with all the soccer tournament in the world, with the Tournament, TeamNames, Players & NumerOfGoals.
Say I had "Tournament" on top, then "TeamNames" below it in the FILTER of the Pivot table with the Players in the ROWS and NumOfGoals in VALUES.

In 2007, if I picked ChampionsLeague filters in the Tournament section, the I will only see TeamNames linked to ChampionsLeague.
In 2013, if I picked ChampionsLeague filters in the Tournament section, I still see ALL the TeamNames, regadless of their Tournament...

I'm sure its just a setting I have to change cause if this is a new "feature", its stupid!!!

    PLEASE PLEASE help!!!

First of all congrats for getting promoted to upgraded version of Excel.

Yup that is there...But why dont you use dynamic functions to get your summary instead of pivot table.

If you are not comfortable in that, please upload your file here so that one of us can help you with that.

    Cheers!!!
    Thanks,

    Hi,

In this case, you should get a Filter at the TOP, when you click on the Filter Arrow that says Select Field.

You might want to check it out.

And none of the features with Pivot Tables are stupid..

What our user "xz_LeStat_zx" is trying to say is that, when he select anything in first filter in Rows field, and he looks for corresponding value in 2nd Rows filed however, instead of getting the corresponding value, he sees all value which are there in database (which is now 2013's feature)

    Refer the below images

    Thank you.
My boss likes Pivot Tables and the ladies working with the report are use to it, so for now I'll keep it as is

If I use Slicer Tabs, it work, but just manual filtering it does, please see example below.

    Screenshot.png

Instead of giving me Teams only linked to "Olympic" in the CallCentre Filter, its shows all existing Teams. It should only display Teams Linked to "Olympic".

This is not new to 2013. It's the same as it always was. Autofilter dropdowns reflect other filters applied, but pivot table filter dropdowns don't.

Yeah, tested it in 2007 and the same thing happened.
Must have been confused with normal data table and Pivot Tables.

    Apologies, but thanks to all.

Make Use of Slicer so that you don't need to step into the drop down list.

Simply you can select the available names from the slicer view
