Set an appropriately sized paper on Page Layout (perhaps Arch D or E ???)

Select target cells + one on each side, top and bottom.

Save As PDF, Standard optmization. In Options, opt for Selection.

When open in Adobe Reader or Acrobat, go to Edit>Preferences>General and tick Use fixed resolution for Snapshot tool images and set your desired resolution to right. Okay out of preferences. Edit>Take a Snapshot...and drag a selection rectangle around target cells. Message will pop up saying the selection area has been copied. Paste in your favorite image editor...

You can set the dpi in the Excel Options, Image Size and Options to 220 DPI.

Using the Windows Snipping Tool, this is what I got when I processed the image size to 300 dpi.
    Capture2.jpg

This is the result of a screenshot of the same data saved to file and cropped in a photo editor and saved at 300 DPI
    Capture3.jpg

I just saw the pictures (first time seeing pictures using IE on this forum) and as shown they are more than 4 times the actual size of the pictures. This produces the "crap" around the text and other elements. When seen at the correct size the pictures are quite sharp.

Saving using Acrobat to create a PDF produces good results.

This is a straight screenshot capture taken from Excel at 400% and cropped without other processing of any kind other than saving from Word.
