PowerPivot Not Working As Expected

Hello,

I have a Sales Table, which has many columns (including Customer Name). It is a record of invoices, so the Customer Name is repeated.

I have a Contact Table which is a two-column table of Customer Name and e-Mail. Nothing is repeated in the table.

I cannot figure out how to make an appropriate relationship, so that I may use the e-Mail column from the Contact table along with all of the data from the Sales table.

I have tried to connect Customer Name in Sales Table to Customer Name in Contact Table, to no avail -- I simply get a PivotTable where every e-mail is displayed for every Customer.

Any idea what is going wrong?

Rory Archibald from Experts Exchange solved it for me. Essentially, you have to have some column in the Values section of the PivotTable or the relationships do not work.
