    Hi Papsco,

    Welcome to the forum

Why do you want to populate the text box with drop down list? What is the logic behind it.
    Thanks

    Hi Papsco

If you mean a worksheet textbox, you click the textbox to select it & in the formula bar enter =B5 if the dropdown list is in B5

    Hope that helps

Re: How to populate a text box when a value in drop down list is selected

Nisha & Philb1 thanks for replying.

Sorry guys I didn't make my question more clear.

I want to populate the text box when a value is selected from the drop down list. The drop down list will be created either fromm the Resource or Project column. In this populated text box I want to enter project updates/outcomes. The text box will be shown when a value is selected from the drop down list.

Kindly help/advise if there is any work around to achieve this or any other way around this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Papsco
My previous post explained how to populate a worksheet textbox

I've attached an example of populating a worksheet textbox & a userform textbox from a dropdown list. It uses worksheet change to activate the userform & the dropdown list is in K2

Re: How to populate a text box when a value in drop down list is selected

    Hi Philb1,

Thanks very much for your prompt response and the attachment is very helpful indeed!

I want a userform textbox to be populated when a choice is selected from the dropdown list and the userform textbox will allow for text input manually from user. Once text is entered in the populated userform textbox it will be hidden.

Whenever the user selects the choice on the drop down list, the text box will appear with the texts inputted. Finally the input text must be editable.

    Thanks once again!

You can edit the userform textbox, but as the example I gave you is now, as soon as you press the Ok button, it clears.
Have a play with it & see if you can get it to do what you want
Let me know if you need any more help
    Cheers
