Changing Point Colors in Graphs

see the attached, I would like to make the outlier points big and red or something, how can I do this? thanks

P.S. if that is hard to do I would settle for being able to make notes on the graph to send to my client, i.e. to circle the outliers and make comments etc... no idea how to do that, google is useless for this as well

You would need to make a new series of Outliers from your source data with a formula to return the values that meet the Outlier criteria and suppress those that don't for example:

Here the values would be in column B and the criteria would be greater than 75. Then create another series not meeting this criteria:

You can then chart these two series and format each individually.

ugh thanks, that will be too time consuming, I am trying to use shapes to circle the areas but then they move out of position, so annoying, why do they move?

The shapes are not linked to the data points of the chart so you have to manually adjust them when the values change. How much data are you charting and what is the criteria for the outliers?

More time consuming than having to move the circles every time the data changes? I don't think so. It takes a minute (maybe) to add a column with the formulas DBY has suggested, then another minute or two if you're unfamiliar with Excel charts to add a series to the chart using these formulas, and changing the marker to a large circle with no fill.

How about posting a workbook. I can't see your picture at all and many others won't be able to see it either.
