Select cells with the dropdown that you want to change. Data/Data validation and type in the new values. Which cells do you want the DV to be in?

sorry mate, it does not work for me. I Change the Name but then it is still the same. I want it to be "open" for "offen", "not applicable" for "entfällt" and "error" for "Fehler". When I Change it, it just remains the same..
You didn't say which cells you wanted the DV in. However, it DOES work. see cells in yellow, attached.
sorry and thank you, that's exactly what I needed! how can I Change the colour back to red for 'error'? unfortunately my Excel Version is not in english so I really couldn't find data Validation or something similar where I can do that by myself
That's done using Conditional Formatting. the Data Validation and Conditional Formating apply ONLY to those cells in column B, adjacent to the yellow coloured cells in column C. If you need more cells formatted similarly, then tell me which ones...
