Conditional formatting formula for subtotals with colours in a requested range

    Hi All

I have a spreasheet for doing costing with formula, however I am looking a formula in conditional formating in doing subtotals with same row colour in bold .

The spreadsheet is big, for the moment doing same with paste special and coloured subtotals rows in bold and red and using format table

Thus I am looking a formula in conditional formating in doing subtotals, alternate rows with their respective header change colour and the whole subtotals rows bold in red for easy reading .

See annexed for more explicit details

    thanks

    Hello
If the word 'Total' is consistently at the end of each cell in column A, the the following Conditional Formatting formula applied to your table should work:

Format Red & Bold. However, in your 'Expected results' tab there are two lines 37 & 39 that have the word total and aren't coloured red, is there any reason for this?

    Hello
It does highlight the entire row if you select your whole table A2:G40 and then apply the Conditional Formatting formula.

Select A2:F39 and create a new Conditional Formatting rule. Use Formula and enter this formula and change the font formatting to red.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Column F has all the subtotals numbered so it makes for an easy identification.

If you want to use the word "Total", select A2:F39
use this formula in Conditional Formatting, New Rule, Use Formula...
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Format the font as Red.
