Using activeX check box to filter data

    Hi,

I am looking for a way to display a filtered list of products based on a selection of some checkboxs. If I have checkboxes for each of my unique values within the 4 columns (colour/Price band/Style/packaging) can I then get only the part numbers (and descriptions - not shown in the sample spreadsheet) to display based on the selections matching the products. So for example if soembody only wanted to see the product that match blue and in the 0-9.99 price range it would only show part number arfwer6 (the product data would be sorted in another sheet)

    Thanks in advance.

You are basically trying to replicate a built-in function (data filters) that is very well developed, easy to use, and robust. Just show your users how to use filters on your entire list, and forget about trying to re-program it.

    Hi daniel-g,

Instead of CheckBoxes, AutoFilter may be a better solution for you. See the following AutoFilter tutorial:

Re: Using activeX check box to filter data

    HI,

I am familiar with autofilters and filters in general, but in this instance they will be ugly and give everybody the full list as default.

What I would like to achieve is have a blank page with product selections available via the checkboxes, then depending on what the user selects the limited data set appears.

This is more about usability and aesthetics.

    Hope that helps.

I did the work for filtering based on two colours - I hope you see the needed structure for the rest of the filtering.... If you have questions, post again.
