Hi All,
I have been searching around for a while but do not see an answer to the issue. Any assistance would be great.
I inherited a large model that has over 400+ unique name ranges. As a result, the model itself is almost impossible to use. I want to remove all of the names but keep it linked to the original source. However, when i delete the names, it causes #REF errors because the links are still being linked to the referenced cell. I had a colleague start going through it and search, find, replace ... but there has to be an easier way.
Just to clarify, the issue is we want to retain the linking but want to remove the named cell. So for example:
- "Settings!$G$8" has been renamed "CELLNAME"
- "Tab2!$A$1" is directly linked to =CELLNAME
- I want to delete the name "Cellname" and automatically have the formula in "Tab2!$A$1" change from "=Cellname" to "=Settings!$G$8".
Is this possible? Any assistance would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Jeff
