Help please! Find code(s) within text string that matches a list of codes

Hi Everyone,

I'm struggling trying to understand the solution provided on the thread below.

I'm not an advanced excel user (I would say I'm an intermediate user) but I'm having a similar issue. I need to find a substring from a list of codes within a string that might contain that specific code (one or more than one). Example is attached.

The solution provide in the thread I mentioned would be great for me except that I need "partial match" and also I don't understand the way the formulas where added since I didnt see something like Sheet1$A2:A444.

I would appreciate it a lot if you can give me a hand on here since I really need to complete for a professional project I'm working on right now.

Using your posted workbook
On the Source tab, if you want to list the codes from the Code tab that are included in the Col_A value...
This formula, copied down, returns the number of matched items:

and this formula, copied across and down, lists each matched value to the right of the referenced cell
