Unhappy Excel 2003 Macro Locations on Windows 7

I got a new computer with Windows 7 and loaded my old Excel 2003. If I write a new macro in the PERSONAL.XLS workbook, it will work fine. But if I exit Excel and open it later, the PERSONAL.EXE FILE opens just fine. But if I try to run the macro from the shortcut on the menu bar, I get a message that says The macro "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\XLSTART\PERSONAL.XLS'!(Macro name)' cannot be found. Is there a way to change the Excel defaults so that it will look for the macro in the PERSONAL.EXE file in the folder where it is now being stored?

The macros should be in a file called Personal.xlt Do a search for that file to see if it exists. I have never used Excel 2003 but I think that that file should be in the xlstart folder. You may have to adjust your macro security settings to see and use your macros.

    This may help you.

I run Win7 and use Excel 2002 as my primary version.

My Personal.xls file is located in:

    C:\Users\Tony\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

Mine is in a similar folder. But when I try and run a macro from a shortcut on the menu bar, I get a message saying it is looking for the macro in the folder I described in my original post. The macros run fine when I access them from the macro menu, but I have a menu set up with about a dozen macros I use frequently. When I click on one of those, Excel looks for the folder I mentioned. I can link the shortcuts to the current Personal.exe file and they will work fine, but if I close Excel and reopen it, the links are broken and Excel is looking for them in a different folder.
