Hiding columns

My problemI find a little difficult to describe.
I have little'+' signs at the top and left side of my screen. I use them to contract (hide) or expand columns or rows. They have been there a long time and I have forgotten what they are called or how to control them.
Can someone please explain how I can manipulate them? I mean remove them without removing the columns included within please? And also how to reinsert them.
Many thanks in advance.
Paul

Please share your workbook and provide the details so that we can check and do the needful.

What do you mean by 'share my workbook' please? I mean can I just paste it in or download it somehow? Paul

Re: Hiding columns

Sounds like they are grouped or sub-totaled. Find the icons on the Data tab/Outline (at the end)

You can upload a file to the forum, To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
