How do you identify those that need to be marked green? A formula cannot read the colour of a cell so you're currently looking at a VBA solution - but if you can share the logic that decides a "green" cell then you can use conditional formatting to colour the cells, and a formula to count them
did you use conditional formatting to add the color, or is it there from a manual formatting change?

Hi,
If you are just looking for a quick and dirty solution you could do it simply by entering this at the top or bottom of your sheet, assuming your prices are displayed in column A, say for example A4 to A22.
Then you can filter the column by colour and 'No Fill' to give you the total for the cells that do not have a green fill. Please Login or Register to view this content.
See sample attached

A table will allow you to filter by colour and if you have a Totals Row for the table (Design Tab, Total Row) the total will be determined by the colour chosen or the lack of colour.
A 1Number 2 1 3 2 4 3 5 4 6 5 7 6 8 21
A 1Number 2 1 3 2 4 3 5 4 6 5 7 6 8 9
The green values in rows 4,5, and 6 are actually hidden when the table colour filter is used. You can see that the totals for the non green cells is correct in A9.

The prices are for different invoices listed in a column. I add the green fill color to those that have been paid. So basically I want to display the total sum of the unpaid invoices.
If you select all your data and then Insert Table, there is no problem. The filter will work just fine. All the details of the unpaid invoices will be displayed.
Or just use the SUBTOTAL function and filter by non-green values, simple...
