Removing rows in a spreadsheet where first and last name are same

    Hello,

I am trying to clean up an excel spreadsheet by removing the rows wherever the first and the last names are identical. Please see attachedAttachment 426991. In the attached, since A2 and B2 match, Row 2 will need to be deleted. Also, since A4 and B4 match, row 4 needs to be deleted as well. The spreadsheet will be left with Row 3 and 5.

    Thank you,
    Gopinath

    Formula/Manual approach:

    1) Formulas
    D1: Key
    D2: =A2=B2

    2) Copy D2 down as far as needed

    3) Click on D1 and turn on the Data > Filter

    4) Filter column D for TRUE only

    5) Highlight all visible rows and delete them

    6) Turn off the Data > Filter

    7) Clear column D
