Bar chart with inlaid data in bar?

    Greetings,

Please see the attached picture. I was wondering if it was possible to have the bars change color as percentage of job was completed rather than the percentage and color change at the end of the red bar. So I would want O2.1.1/JEM to show half green from the left and half red as the job is only 48% But I would want O3.1.1/JAS to show all green because it is 100% done. ANd I would want O5.1.1/MER to show all red becuase it hasn't been started yet. This chart is being fed information from other excel sheets in the same work book. 1.2.3......go! Capture.JPG

I would expect to use a stacked bar chart. I would also expect that most of the work will be in the spreadsheet and not in the chart. I would expect data to look something like:

With column A as the horizontal axis data, and C and D as your two stacked bar data series, you can then format the two stacked bars with the colors you want. I suspect that the hardest part is figuring out the formulas to get the right information into C2 and D2.

clearly you are much more advanced than I am. I've been able to make the chart through google and asking questions on here. Is there any way you could "Dumb" this down for me so I can understand it better. I Not sure I even understand where you are implying to input what you have written.

I'm not sure it matters a lot where you put it in the spreadsheet. I would expect one would put this table someplace adjacent to the existing data. Since I cannot see where you have the original data stored in the spreadsheet, I cannot really answer where you should put this table. Also, the exact formulas that will go into this table will depend on how you have the current data stored, so I don't think I can be more specific on these formulas.

Perhaps if you upload a sample Excel file rather than a picture.
