(Detailed request) search bar with automatic changes to multiple cells

Hello all, first day here and I am looking for advice how on how to setup a quite complex function.

Ok so I have an inventory sheet and I am having issues with manual entry (incorrect part numbers and or quantities) so I would like to setup an automatic entry button essentially. I would like a button that when clicked will being up a search where you can put in a part number and it will search the current page for that part number, it would then ask for a quantity and then update the current cell total (IE, if the current quantity of part a was 500 and 1000 came in it would total up the cell to the 1500) once the cell updates it would also change a date inventoried cell to the current time and date, and also change a drop down menu from ordered to inventoried. I hope that even half of what I said makes sense and I really hope this function is possible.

    Thanks in advance.

There isn't a single function that will do all that for you, and indeed you won't be able to do it all with functions and formulae - you will need some macro to do it (VBA). Perhaps someone will jump in and offer to write you some code.

    Figures :D

Thanks for the heads up though, I was hoping it would just be an easy thing, but where is the fun in that right?
