I assume you are referring to the SPELLNUMBER example UDF?
Can't you just cut out the CASE Selects "Dollar" and "Cents"?
Well, if you're just returning integer text names between one and ten, I would just run a CHOOSE off the input and be done with it:

I think you need to give a bit more detail regarding what you want here?
