Auto hiding rows based on dropdown selection not working properly.

    Hello,

In the attached file I've tried to hide/unhide ROWS based on the selection from dropdown box. It works for the first time but when I keep selecting different options it eventually hides all the ROWS in the range.

    What did I do wrong?

    Thanks

I couldn't really duplicate what you are describing, but, I did notice that you are hiding columns and then not making them visible again.

    Thanks for quick response.

When you open the file and select "February 2016" , every ROW that doesn't contain 2 in column I from range I14:I200 will hide . When you change it to "March 2016" every ROW that contains 3 in column I from range I14:I200 will appear and all others disappear. So far everything is good, however if you select "February 2016" again it goes crazy and hides everything.

    Thanks

Re: Auto hiding rows based on dropdown selection not working properly.

That would be because of your calculation codes. As you said, picking February 2016 hides everything that doesn't have a 2 in column I, then March 2016 will make rows with a 3 appear. Selecting February 2016 again fires the calculate code again and hides everything without a 2. Since March 2016 only shows 3, and the February 2016 already hid everything without a 2, you end up with everything hidden as there is no code to bring everything back.
Hope I didn't' confuse you there, I almost confused myself.

That makes sense. I thought problem will be there, but I can't think of any code that would bring everything back and at the same time performs selection based on dropdown. Can you help?

I can give it a shot. It might take a while though.

    I would really appreciate that.
It has something to do with the fact that selection from February to March works fine , but from March to February doesn't. I cant get my head around it.

I can't access the file at work (security settings won't let me download files with macros), and I'm a bit pressed for time, but you might find some help with hiding/unhiding rows here: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-form...ml#post4246259

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.
