I'm using Excel 2013 and I have a particular problem were, only, a particular file will not open up fast enough. All my other files open up quickly except this particular one. I'm using Windows 8.1, an I've been working with this file for a long time without this problem occuring.
What's the size of the file on disk?

Do you have another Excel file open already? If so that could explain it. I've found that opening a second Excel file can take many minutes.
The fix it to click or type in some empty row in the first spreadsheet. The second will them open immediately.

It only happens due to load of data.
Some files open quickly because they do not have large content or complex stuff.
In short, that's not a big issue.
