Query(): The level "&[[dimCustomers]].&[Name]]]' object was not found in the cube

When trying yo update an Excel 2010 power pivot workbook to 2013 I get an error message with:

I don't understand what causes this error. My model looks fine in my eyes and there are no warning triangles in the Power Pivot Window. What causes this error message? How can I fix it?

If you will open Power Pivot window and select Design tab then select dimCustomers table and choose Table properties, what is MDX query? I expect level should perhaps be [dimCustomers].[Customer].&[customerName]?

The table properties button is grayed out on all my tables. Do you have any idea as to why? I have googled but haven't found an answer. The power pivot table is based on a linked Excel table (all tables in the model are).

When does error occur? Perhaps is easier to reload all tables?

Re: Query(): The level "&[[dimCustomers]].&[Name]]]' object was not found in the cube

The error occurs when I try to update my Excel 2010 power pivot model to Excel 2013 (or Excel 2016).

I have been able to update earlier workbooks without problem, but now I get this error. Updating all tables does not help. If I remove all tables from the model and then add them again, I believe I would need to recreate all pivot tables again. That would take long time. I'm also afraid that the problem would appear immediately again or after awhile. It makes me uncomfortable to have this error that I don't understand.

I do not have so many experiences with corrupt data model (and most was with Power Query) but when I do have it, I always have to rebuild it.

Thank you Izandol. I appreciate hearing about your experience!

If anyone has been able to solve or better understand this kind of error message, please let me know how.

Otherwise I will rebuild the file when I must.
