Hi there, Excel Masters!
I've got an odd problem regarding formulas that link to other workbooks. Almost 100% of the time, I write formulas with what I suppose are "relative" links to other files. That is, the relevant part of the formula looks like this:
EXAMPLE A: Normal
19 out of 20 users never have an issue with links / references being set up this way. Please Login or Register to view this content.
But sometimes, on one user's computer, the formula will change to something like:
Example B: Abnormal
...and it includes part of the server address within the formula. When the formula includes these extra bits, the link to the other file is broken and the spreadsheet doesn't work any more. Here's the kicker:Please Login or Register to view this content.
1. The location of the files hasn't changed; they're in the same place they always were
2. If I open the spreadsheet in question, I don't see the extra bits containing the server address and the formulas work fine for me.
I've already checked to make sure the advanced options in Excel match up for all users. File -> Excel Options -> Advanced -> General -> Web Options -> Files ...all four boxes here are checked on all machines...
Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Thanks!
