    Exclamation How to use Conditonal Formatting to highlight seperate cell?

    Hi guys

    I'm currently trying to use conditional formatting to turn one cell red (to show an alert)..

    Since the cell I want to change colour is not the one with the data in, Im having a hard time with it?

    I've attached the file to this post. Essentially I want the merged cells in column D to turn red when data in column A ("L/TIME") goes below or hits 0, or if all numbers are above 0 for the colour to stay the same or turn green.

    If anyone can help or come up with a solution I would be very grateful!

    Many thanks,
    Henry

    Select the merged cells in column D, then click on Conditional Formatting | New Rule | Use a formula... , then put this formula in the dialogue box:

    =COUNTIF($A$2:$A$10,"<0")

    Click the Format button, then the Fill tab and choose red. Click on OK twice to exit the dialogue box.

    Hope this helps.

    use conditional formatting with rule based on formula.
    the formula to use could be for instance:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Hi Pete,
    I was wondering if you'd know if this same principle would apply with the ms excel "android application?" As it doesn't have a format functionality like the pc version does.

    @Bobbi.G,

    You should read Rule 02, which says that you should not hijack someone else's thread - start one of your own instead.

    I have never used the Excel Android application, so I can't advise you on that.
