Mr Excel had an example that if you use a table you can right click on the bottom cell and drag and then in the series option, you can can add dates to whatever data you specify with one step down the column for dates. I did this but it doesn't fill anything

Here's an example. In A1, you have 1/31/2015. I want to right click on fill series and go to 1/31/2016, 1 cell down the column for each date. Supposedly, if you have a table (if A1 is a table) it will automatically create all the cells in between without having to fill the cells yourself or drag the fill handle. This is according to Mr. Excel, but it doesn't work for me.

Did you follow the directions exactly as specified? One thing he describes is that you must right click and drag down a cell or two then back up before you will get the "fill" context menu. Are you sure you are following all the steps he specifies?
