I am looking for a more efficient method of taking page numbers and zoning codes to create a zoning chart. Currently, I need to do this manually, but, as the information I receive is in the same format, I believe that there is a way to automate the process.
I receive market information from a client, which assigns zoning codes to the page codes. In the "Store Recap" attachment, the zones are in column A, starting with the headers in row 5 and the zones following. The following columns have the page codes as the headers, with the zone codes underneath.
I need to have the page names created by combining the page codes with their respective zone codes (ex: page code "C01" followed by zone code "ARTW" to create "C01_ARTW". These are to be assigned to column A in a new worksheet.
The second part is to have the Zones in column A of the recap assigned to their respective page codes and placed in the following column(s) in the new sheet (ex: for page "C01_ARTW", it would have zone "ARTW" in column B.
Here are some of the directives:
For any page codes that have more than 1 zone, these zone codes are to be assigned in successive columns (ex: page code "C02_ARTW" would have the following zone codes assigned to it: ARTW, DROK, EMFJ, JUFY, ROIV, SOPY, WTTT).
The Zones should be in bold print.
There are pages codes that have blank cells in the recap. This means that there are no pages for those Zones.
I have created a Zoning chart to show the results.
The recap and zoning chart are truncated versions. There are a minimum of 8 pages, with the possibility of 20 pages, so the page count changes with each week.
There are page codes can have letters and numbers (C01, C02, etc.) and have all letters (CGC). The page codes are always 3 characters. The zone codes can be 3 or 4 letters.
Any help on this is appreciated.
Thank you.
