Importing data from Access to Excel Issue - Help!

Hopefully someone can help!

When trying to link an 2010 excel worksheet to a table within a database however when i click on the mdb data source nothing happens. It should normally give you the option to select which table within that database you want to link to but it doesn't even show that. It just returns to the excel sheet.

I am able to open the intended table within the Access database so the source works fine which makes me wonder if Excel is corrupt in some way.

As this happen to anyone else and if so, how did you get around it?

I have tried that as well but unfortunately it's the same. No matter what excel workbook, it's the same issue.
