Counting non-blank cells in mutliple tabs of same worksheet

Hello

I thought this was straightforward but I am having a problem.

(1) Consider a spreadsheet that has 4 tabs
(2) Each tab (sheet) has a table of the same exact format
(3) I want to count the NUMBER of non-blank cells across the sheets in the same cell.

Example:
(a)Spreadsheet has 4 tabs, Eval 1, Eval2, Eval3, Eval4.
(b) Suppose I want to now how many non-blank cells there are altogether in these 4 sheets, say in cell B4 for example.

I thought that all I had to do was to use:

COUNTA(Eval1:Eval4!B4)

Is this right? I cant get it to work.

Please help.

=COUNTA('eval 1'!B4,'eval 2'!B4,'eval 3'!B4,'eval 4'!B4)
