    Newbie requiring an expert to assist in selecting multiple option from dropdown list

    Hi Everyone,

    I am not even a beginner when it comes to excel so please keep this in mind when you are assisting me. I need help to select multiple "modules/products" from my drop down list so that I can choose corresponding service types which will then give me a final amount which I can quote a client on.

    I have attached the spreadsheet for you to make sense of it all. Your urgent assistance is much appreciated.

    Hi Fdibbins,

    Nice to have an local baaienaar responding to the post. I am an old Grey boy and still in PE doing my thing. Well like I said I am useless when it comes to spreadsheets and what I have attempted came from long hours of reading up on excel.

    Basically what I want to do is on the pricing tab select different models(Products) which will each have there specific service type and get a total cost for the selected modules. I have attached another spreadsheet to show you in detail what module goes with which service type. There are a lot of service types that's applicable to all modules.

    OK, so you want the X's filled in as well? And then want a sum of the amounts for each Task Step?

    No entirely I want to be able to select/pick different modules as a group along with their different individual service types. That selection must then give me an overall price which the client will pay over a 24 month period. You will see this on the "copy of new costing module" sheet under modular costing tab. The X's is just an illustration to say that service type is applicable to the module.

    Assuming you want the X's filled in...
    C5=IF(ISERROR(MATCH($B5&C$4,INDEX('Activity Costing'!$B$2:$B200&'Activity Costing'!$C$2:$C$200,0),0)),"","X")
    copied down and across

    And for the totals...
    C29=SUMIFS('Activity Costing'!$H:$H,'Activity Costing'!$C:$C,'Module vs Service Type'!C$4)
    copied across

    Perhaps I am not understanding what you want?

    In the attached file, I have added the formula to pull in the X's (although I believe you didnt want that?)
    I have also added my SUM formula to below your totals
