Create a plot with Total number of occurences in a given year with date ranges

Here is the situation.

I have a sheet that looks like this:

Name Start Date End Date
ABERFELDIE 1950-05-01T00:00:00 2000-12-31T23:59:59
ALBREDA 1973-06-01T00:00:00 2000-12-31T23:59:59
ARGENTA 1957-11-01T00:00:00 2000-11-30T23:59:59

It has a few hundred entries. My end goal is to chart the total number of occurrences in each year between 1950 and 2016. So for 1950 for this list it would count 1 occurrence as Aberfeldie is the only one that occurs in 1950, 1960 would count 2 occurrences as aberfeldie and argenta occur in this year, and so on.

PLEAse help if you can.
