problem with ordinate from a to z

i have a table i want to ordonate PNT0..PNT1..PNT2..PNT3..PNT4...PNT167

Mr EXCEL make somthing i dont understand

Please explain why ordinate same my excel fille
and how ordinate numerical PNT0,PNT1....PNT167

Hi bogd1n,

Create a helper column E and put this formula in E1 and pull it down.

=MID(A1,4,5)+0

Then sort by this column. The formula extracts the number from the Column A text and turns it into a number by adding zero.
You can then delete column E and have your column A sorted like you wanted.
