It's going to depend, but, if the cells are always formatted the same way with the same number of digits in each, then this might do it

Thanks. In the attached file of my original post, how do we change cell A2? I want to get rid of the characters before the number, which could come in any format.
You can't do it within A2 that is taken care of with the formula that I gave you. It looks for a semi colon and if that is consistent, the formula will work. If you have other contents that concern you that are not covered by A2 and A3 please post them.
Thanks for your reply. Sorry for not being clear. I don't mean change cell A2. I mean what formula must I put into Cell B2 in order to get 12.24? I attach the file.

That is exactly what I gave you in message #4. The formula there will give you the exact results that you indicated that you want.
