Good afternoon all,
I have a file originally created on my desktop and uploaded to sharepoint. When I open the file I get the message "We can't connect to 'http://sharepoint...." I click the OK button and get a second window message saying "Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'http://sharepoint...." I click the OK button and a few similar windows open. After clicking OK the file opens up. The part that's confusing the %#^$ out of me is I did a save as to my desk top from sharepoint. I close and reopen the program and receive the same messages. I have some index match formulas that get information from a different location and some buttons with macros to copy paste values to replace the formulas and change font colors. Nothing that points back to that sharepoint location. Any help or suggestions is most appreciated. If I remove all the formulas, macros, and buttons, I do not get the message. I have not been able to figure out what is causing the problem.
NOTE: I found one button not the macro itself, had and association with sharepoint. I reassigned the buttons and now only get the first two messages...still searching for others.
NOTE2: Discovered the original message window referenced a different file than the one I was opening. After more trial and error testing..the problem is the index(match) formulas retrieve info from a alternate database If I clear the formulas I do not get the "cannot connect to..." message. I than retype the formula. Open the file and the message is there. If I start a new excel file and type the same formula all works well. I did a search on my worksheet for the title in the message and came up with no results. So it seems it is linked some other way to the sharepoint worksheet. Is there a different way to search for the link/connection?
Thank you,
Ken
