accounting for mileage in driver productivity?

'm trying to measure driver productivity but account for mileage. For example. Two drivers both made the same amount of money, and both delivered ten packages. Driver A drove 100 miles and driver B only drove 50. I want to be able to account for the extra mileage driven in the productivity of both drivers. What formula would help removed the burden of addtional miles driver A had to drive, see attached

Re: accounting for mileage in driver productivity?

how would you want to weight that mileage difference

you also have different labour costs to consider

Two drivers both made the same amount of money,
They cost is based on the hour rate and so both worked 8 hours
did you also want to factor in the cost of the person as a productivity - you can include the hours perhaps
you could divide by the hours worked

So (trips * miles )/hours worked - may help to give you a rating

so someone who does 10 trips and 100 miles but in less hours would be more productive

If you multiply the number of stops by the mileage travelled - does that help as a weighting

    for example

    16 stops and 100 miles = 1600
    but
    8 stops and 200 miles also = 1600

so for a productivity would you consider those two drivers to be equal

    4 stops and 400 miles also = 1600
    64 stops and 25 miles also = 1600

does that help differentiate enough for productivity
so all those 4 trips would be considered the same

but if they do it less hours

    1600 / hours
    would differentiate the driver

    and then use rank

see attached , with a few examples as stated and ranking
