How to avoid having to select same range twice?

    What I am doing:

The problem with this is that I don't want to have to go through and select F11:F15 for both the sum and count operations (because, sometimes, it's more F1, F12, F14)... how can I go about doing this?

Ideally, I mean that when I select the range for sum, I automatically get the same range for count. Rather than, say:

    h = F11:F12

    sum(h)/(count(h)*15)

if this is a possible solution (although, obviously, if the equivalent of this exists it'd clearly be helpful, it's just what I want this for is so simple this isn't more efficient).

    1. It would help to see the workbook.

You get better help on your question if you add a small excel file, without confidential information.

Please also add manualy the expected result in your file.

    To Attach a File:

    1. Scroll down to the window below your post Additional Options
    2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
    3. Click the button.
    4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
    5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
    6. This will open a new window File Upload.
    7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
    8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
    9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
    10. Close the window and then click Submit.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Re: How to avoid having to select same range twice?

Respectfully, I disagree. I have a single column (vector if you will) of numbers that I am interested in. I really do not see how accessing the workbook could help.

    120
    120
    105
    60
    105
    105
    105
    30
    135
    90
    120
    135
    90
    105
    120
    45
    105
    105
    90

Said numbers. (Does this forum have a spoiler feature?)
