Staff Schedule based on call volume

    Hi all,

I am looking for some sort of template where I can workout how many staff I should have at each day depending on the call volumes at each hour.

I have a number of staff and then I have my call volume for the entire month broke down into hours and days.

    Thanks.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Well, I cant really attach a file.
I will try and explain in better words.

I have 20 staff and I have 300 calls per day with average talk time of 10 minutes.
I have the volumes based on each hour.

I need a template to work out based on the call volume from the previous month for each day/hour which would show the optimum shifts for staff.

How do you want the data to be presented?

    Hi Toonies,
This is good but this just shows me overall staff number required.

In my old company we had an excel file with some sort of calculations which shows per hour how many staff I required.

I had the times down in column A per hour. (08:00, 09:00, 10:00 etc)
Column B i would have the call volume for example in that hour.
Column C i would have the average talk time
Column D i would have the recommended number of staff I needed for that hour.

To be honest I don't think ill be able to find something like the file we had, it was kind of like an excel workforce management but self-made.

It may be possible to use the Excel add-in Solver for this kind of problem.

I've set up a small model based on people working 3 differnt 8 hrs shift between 08:00 and 18:00 with 1 hrs off for lunch. I've assumed a person can hadle 5 calls an hour.
