Keeping tracked changes in Excel from being erased

I teach an online excel course. I created a workbook that has some tracked changes that I want them to go in and either accept or reject. My issue is that when I try and upload the workbook to the school's online learning platform (Moodle) Excel does not retain the record of tracked changes in the workbook. They are erased and my students will not be able to view them. I have tried enclosing the workbook in a zip folder, but they are erased when the file is zipped before I even go to uploading it. I've tried protecting the shared workbook which supposedly keeps change tracking from being erased, but no luck. Does anyone know how I can share the workbook via an upload/download platform and keep this log from being wiped?
