I am building on my excel skills and trying to make a sheet work for me. I have a group of unit that will report to an individual. Rather than write the individual's names over and over, I would like to be able to run a formula and have Excel spit out the name for me. For instance:
5BT, 5EST, 5WST should spit out Overman
3WST, 6BT should spit out Wolack
How can I get this to work?
use VLookup for that.
Although reading your question it is much easier to input Overman than the text 5BT, 5EST, 5WST
Notice my main language is not English.

Try:
=IF(OR(A1={"5BT",5EST","5WST"}),"overman","Wolack")
