"The clipboard cannot be emptied. Another program might be using the Clipboard. OK".

If I drag cells from one place to another I very often get this message. I have Googled problem & it would seem that some people have had an issue with Skype - I don't have it installed. Yesterday I had a lot of Office 2010 updates according to my update history, but still no fix. It's very annoying. Anyone got any ideas??
Win 10 Home with all updates, 16GB RAM Excel 2010
    Thanks

Have you tried clearing the Clipboard yourself?
Have you tried deleting all TEMP files and rebooting?
When does this seem to happen? Is it after copying and pasting several times or does it happen the very first time you try to c&p?
What other programs are open at the same time?
How frequently do you reboot in general?

    Hi
Not recently, but I have in the past emptied the clipboard. FYI when I click OK (on error message)
the data ALWAYS goes where I want ti to & when I go to move the next cells, same thing happens. This is
nearly every time I move data this way. It's not C & P exactly, it's when I drag cells in a spreadsheet. (For me, typically, I drag
a whole line at a time, selected by clicking on the edge, rather than selecting cells
I generally have many programmes running, but I haven't noticed any difference with fewer/none running (generally, KIS, Stickies,
back up programme, TB, Firefox, Autotextme & others running)
As per re-boot. When this happened yesterday, I had just done a re-boot after Win 10 update. MS Office 2010 had, apparently,
had a job lot of updates applied the day before. I would like to think that MS could actually sort this problem out
Looking at the web, people have been reporting it for years!
Haven't actually tried emptying TEMP folder, but really, shouldn't have to do that just to use a simple function in a spreadsheet
