Shape with formula stops refreshing when I close and save worksheet

Hi,

I have a few Shapes with formulas in addition to excel charts in my worksheet (in this case a circle with =input!A1). These shapes are suppose to be dynamic, showing different values according to the underline formula.

After inserting the formula, the shape works and changes after new data is added, but after I close the worksheet its value remains constant (eg. 5) even when data changes.

I wonder if it could be the case that the worksheet is too loaded with formulas

Sounds a tricky one.. Few things I would question/ try to try and problem solve it. Does it happen on more than one computer and/or excel version? Is it occurring in one file or multiple? Does it still occur if copying the contents of the file into a new file? Possibly try Office Diagnostics check everything is working as it should. Could any macros be setting: Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual and not turning calculations back to automatic? Or could Workbook Calculations, be sometimes getting set to Manual in Excel Options?
