    How to use excell to track Hours of Srevice

    Hello all,
    is there any one out ther that can help me. I need to keep track of my drivers' hours as it relates to log books. I need to ensure;

    !st; No one accumulates more then 70hours on duty and driving time in the past 7 days

    2nd; no driver drives for more then 13 hours a day, and doesn't exceed 14 hours of combined driving and on duty time per day

    3rd; Every driver has the required 10 hours off every day. There must be a minimum of 8 consecutive hours off between shifts, and any breaks during the day that are a minimum of 30minuets or more can be counted toward the 10 hours off. 15 minuet breaks don't count.

    3rd; Every driver must end their day 16 hours after their day starts, regardless of how much off duty time they have during the day.

    4th; If a driver is off for 36 consecutive hours, his 7 day total is reset to zero hours.

    There are four categories for driver time that I need to enter.
    A-Off Duty
    B-Sleeper Birth (not applicable to me at the moment but may be at some time) also considered as off duty
    C-Driving
    D-On Duty not Driving.

    There is one exception to the daily total of 13/14hours, and the 16 hour ruel, and that is to defer hours from your next time off. If needed to drive an extra two hours, the driver must add those two hours to his next 8 hours of consecutive off duty time, thus making it 10 hours of consecutive off duty time and 12 hours off duty time for the day total.

    Hey, I haven't created a full sheet yet but I have been playing around and made a rough model of what you want. The blue cells are the cells that the user needs to input, every other cell is automatic. If a drive has over 13 daily hours, that cell will turn red, if they have less than a ten hour break between shifts that will turn red, and if the total hours exceeds seventy that cell will turn red. When I get some more free time I will see if I can't fine tune it more. Let me know what you think. (See Attached Sheet)
